ANARCHIDINNER: AN EXPERIMENTAL BANQUET
Barbican Art Gallery, London
28 April 2011
Drawing inspiration from the guest chef nights at the renowned 1970s artist-run restaurant, FOOD, this specially conceived dinner featured artists and performers preparing and serving a sculptural meal with hand and power tools.
The meal took inspiration from the current Barbican exhibition, Laurie Anderson, Trisha Brown, Gordon Matta-Clark Pioneers of the Downtown Scene New York, 1970s and played with understandings of Anderson’s Handphone Table, Brown’s seminal Accumulation pieces and Matta-Clark’s Open House and his sculptural dinner concept.
